High Tax, High Debt Could Cripple Small Business
Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus has a personal stake in small business, creating jobs and living the American dream. He knows first hand what it means to start with nothing and then through hard work and determination, create a thriving business enterprise that is world class and has given rise to many jobs that are such an integral part of a thriving economy.
That is why he is so concerned with the direction the country is going with the massive stimulus spending spree. He advocates that not one job has been created by it. In response to the argument that jobs have been saved, he is not moved by this. The metric he values is job creation, not simply allowing someone who already has a job to keep it.
Marcus is advocating business tax cuts that will allow companies to hire workers and expand their equipment and facilities. He feels it is time for the administration in Washington to meet with business owners and work together to find solutions to hire unemployed workers. Two key points he makes are that we need to keep tax cuts in place for small business and at the same time reign in the massing spending initiatives that are not creating jobs but are increasing national debt.
