Former\u00a0General Motors\u00a0CEO Fritz Henderson has finally found himself a new job, landing the position of CEO at Sunoco spin-off SunCoke Energy. SunCoke is expected to be separated from Sunoco sometime during the first half of next year.<\/p>\n
Until SunCoke is spun-off from Sunoco, Henderson will serve as the company\u2019s senior vice president. Sunoco announced in June that it would be separating from SunCoke in 2011, although the new company still has some regulatory hoops to jump through.<\/p>\n
\u201cFritz is an exceptionally gifted and highly experienced executive with the business and financial expertise needed to lead SunCoke Energy as an independent company and drive its global growth strategy,\u201d Lynn L. Elsenhans, Sunoco\u2019s CEO, said in a statement. \u201cHis broad global experience managing\u00a0businesses\u00a0in many of the world\u2019s major markets will be invaluable.\u201d<\/p>\n
Henderson, 52, was dismissed from General Motors last December. Henderson took over the reins of GM following President Obama\u2019s ousting of then GM CEO Rick Wagoner. Henderson guided GM through its bankruptcy proceedings before being replaced by former\u00a0AT&T\u00a0exec Ed Whitacre.<\/p>\n
On a related note,\u00a0Wagoner was recently named to the board\u00a0of an Ohio recycling company.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
